People continue to ask me what the best method is for tattoo removal. There is no simple answer. It is a matter of time, money, and size of the tattoo, and the composition of the inks.

Laser is the fastest but can be the most expensive and painful. Dermabrasion is a cose second. Excision – well that just sounds too creepy to have someone shaving off the layers of my skin.

So then we are left with the tattoo removal creams. I personally prefer Wrecking Balm because it is not just a cream it is a system that has an FDA approved applicator and other add-ons like Dermacore that helps the skin recover in a healthy way.

Any of the other methods will always leave some level of scarring or discoloration. That should be avoided if possible. Also a goo rule of thumb is, the faster the method the more expensive and painful it will be with the greatest opportunity for long-term scarring.

The creams make sense because you can opt to completely remove or simply fade the tattoo and finish it off with another method.

Think about it…

Thereis always a risk involved with everything. Even with medicines and medical procedures, there is always a certain percentage that something wrong will happen or have a side effect tolerable or not. That is why people take calculated risks. In the same manner, getting a tattoo entails some risk. In the case of tattoo being used as permanent make-up, the procedure is called micro-pigmentation. The manufacture of inks or pigments used in tattooing isunder the watchful eye of the Food and Drug Administration. Since the practice of tattooing is not really as established as compared to make up products, there might still be loopholes and or lapses which the manufacturers of these pigments will exploit which will escape the watchful eye of the regulatoryagency like the food and drug administration.

Thefirst major risk in getting a tattoo is with regards to safety. There is reallyno guarantee yet that the pigments or inks used by certain tattoo artistspassed the strictest quality control so that it will not cause any allergies orunwanted side effects to human beings. Even though, there have been significantimprovements in how tattoo is done over the years there is still that risk ofgetting contaminated due to unsafe and unclean practices of a certain tattooartists. That is the very reason why you should carefully choose the tattooartist; get to know the safety policy and procedures of his or her tattooclinic. You should always insist on seeing that the needles which will be usedcome straight out of a sealed package. Needles should only be used once anddisposed of properly after single use. It is worth mentioning though thatmajority of tattoo artists do really put a premium on customer safety. Still,it is always wise to make sure.

Thesecond major risk is that your tattoo might become obsolete to you. There aremany reasons why a tattoo will lose its importance. Tattoos proclaiming loveand devotions often used the name or even the portrait of the person which isthe object of affection. When the relationship sours and ends, you are leftwith the tattoo which is a constant reminder of the failed relationship so thetattoo loses its importance to you. This is not to dissuade you from getting aname tattoo of your significant someone; it is just that the risk is certainlyhigher.

Anotherinherent risk is that a tattoo will fade over the years. What you can probablydo to lessen that risk is to properly care for your tattoo so that it willstill look vibrant for a long time.

To learn more about the risks of tattos and tattoo inks then out The Secret Dangers Of Tattoo Inks by clicking here.

The following post is an excerpt from The Secret Dangers Of Tattoo Inks special report.

Mixing tattoo inks is now more popular than before because tattoo artists and customers are now more aware of what they put under their skin. People now know that the commercially mixed paints could contain different types of toxins and heavy metals that can harm the body and cause different ailments.

The commercially mixed tattoo inks are based on metal salts and some of them contain car paints. The main ingredients in such kind of paints are cobalt, ultra marine, manganese and iron. Most of these metals can cause heavy metal toxicity and they tend to accumulate in body. Even though we know that the amount entering the body is very small and the pigment is just found under the skin but we need to know if we can use something safer and more efficient or not. Tattoo ink is a part of a big industry and many companies are now producing such inks. Each company produces different types of inks and each company tends to preserve its recipe as a secret and does not reveal it to the public. The law helps them do so because there are no regulations that oblige the
company to disclose the ingredients on the container package. Also the company is free to use any kind of cosmetic or painting colors because it is legal to do this.

This causes some tattoo artists prefer to mix their own inks at home without buying anything from the tattoo stores except the powder that gives the color. This is a simpler solution so they can know most of the components they are using. It is a very good idea to know what is going inside your body instead of just using ready-made or dispersed inks with vague ingredients. The most popular way that tattoos artists use to mix their own inks is simple but it needs a lot of practicing to control the ingredients and know the exact amount of each of them. This should be done over a period of time and the tattoo artist should keep track of the amounts so he can find out which mixture was more successful.

The question remains, how safe are tattoo inks mixed by tattoo artists? How many have a sterile environment to do such work? How many are trained in techniques to avoid or remediate contamination? Are these toxic components are real health risk? How will they react in the body over a period of time?

Lately as the trend of persons getting fresh body art has risen sharply, it is being followed by an additional trend - tattoo removal.

Lately as the trend of persons getting fresh body art has risen sharply, it is being followed by an additional trend – tattoo removal. There are many options for tattoo removal but there is a clear out leader on the playing field. Tattoo removal cream is taking over and for good logic.

Many persons are shocked to observe that removing their body art might cost 10 times more than the cost of the original tattoo. This is not only shocking but high-priced for many. Really, who has a thousand dollars or more just sitting around? Not many.

Not to mention, the other leading option, laser tattoo removal, is not only expensive, it is also painful, and may possibly have long-term side effects. Plus, there is no assurance that your body art will be completely removed. This might be factual for several reasons.

To start, there is no supervision on tattoo inks so the formulation is all over the place. Secondly the depth at which the inks exist on beneath the skin is also an issue. The deeper the inks; the more problematical it will be to remove the tattoo. Furthermore, your own body chemistry will play a role in successful tattoo eradication.

This is where the correct tattoo removal cream will shine. This is a low-cost, do-it-at-your-own pace, method that does not produce the same prospective downside of laser tattoo removal. Last of all, many are discovering that pre-fading a tattoo ahead of laser tattoo removal is also a reasonable choice.

No matter how or why you are getting rid of your body art, tattoo removal creams deserve consideration.

A New Jersey based company called Freedom2 is developing a line of tattoo inks called Infinitink that are permanent but still can be removed much easier than traditional tattoo inks in the event that the consumer no longer wants the tattoo.

I just watched a video segment on tattoo inks that was pretty impressive and definitely worth sharing. A New Jersey based company called Freedom2 is developing a line of tattoo inks called Infinitink that are permanent but still can be removed much easier than traditional tattoo inks in the event that the consumer no longer wants the tattoo.

If you think about it this is a pretty big leap in the body art industry. We all know that tattoos are intended to be permanent. We also know of the millions who wish they could change or remove their tattoos. Infinitink represents tattoo inks with a properties that allow the type of flexiblility that makes is less risky to get a tattoo.

Additionally the report says that the company is basing its inks more on materials that are far less toxic and mush safer than traditional tattoo inks. As we have documented in the past, there are no regulations on tattoo inks and some tattoo artists are even making their own ink mixtures. When you consider how deeply tattoo ink is placed under the skin then you know that what Freedom2 is working on with Infinitink is a great idea.

The challenge will of course be getting these inks into the mainstream as quickly as possible. Perhaps Freedom2 will consider allowing consumers to purchase their own inks for their tattoos. I know I wold definitely consider it. Even if the inks were a bit more expensive it would be worth it if you take into consideration the high cost of some tattoo removal methods.

Freedom2 and Infinitink may even boost the credibility and use of products like Wrecking Balm which is one of the few tattoo removal creams on the market whose formulas are keeping stride with the rapidly changing variety of tattoo inks out there.

We will have to keep our ears to the tracks to see how soon Freedom2 and their Infinitink line will be available to the public. There are about 20 shops around the country who use the product. Check out www.infinitink.com under the consumer link for more info.

Perhaps you have tattoo or are considering getting one. What I find interesting is that people seem to give little thought to the potential risks of tattoos. Risks? Well of course.

Tattoos have been around for thousands of years. They were used for identification and to inspire fear in ones enemies. There has been much speculation about where they originated. Regardless of the answer it is clear that tattooing has become an obsession. It is reported that 1 in 7 Americans has a tattoo. That is an astounding number and it is on the rise.

People have many reasons for getting a tattoo. Perhaps it is to memorialize a loved one or to express emotions for a current love. Some get tattoos as a way make a personal statement about themselves. No matter they are everywhere.

Perhaps you have tattoo or are considering getting one. What I find interesting is that people seem to give little thought to the potential risks of tattoos. Risks? Well of course. The modern method of applying tattoos was based on a machine called the autographic printer, or an engraving machine.. The inventor was none other than Thomas Edison in 1876. I remember people having crude adaptations of these devices when I was kid. The machine was later adapted to apply inks under the skin. The ink reservoirs came later.

Most people are probably not aware that the large majority of tattoo inks are based on metals. For instance red and black come from iron oxides. Yellow comes from cadmium. Green comes from chromium and so on.

I do not know if I am ready to make a pronouncement that tattoos are unsafe but it is a well known fact that the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) has begun to take close look at tattoo inks given the rising popularity of this obsessive ritual.

The mere fact that the many of the inks are based on metals is a cause for alarm since high metal content in the human body has been linked to many diseases. Additionally, there are other inks that are based on plastics that are reported to change the texture of the skin in a way that cannot be reversed even if the tattoo is removed. The most disconcerting tidbit I stumbled upon was the knowledge that many tattoo artist mix their own inks. There is no oversight no way to know if someone is qualified to do such a thing.

The skin is the largest organ on the human body. Many people seem to forget that. Essentially whatever is applied to the skin is absorbed through the body. This is true of soaps, lotions, perfumes, colognes, and of course tattoo inks. We know this is the case because tattoos will fade a bit over time, but not because the ink is washing off, it is being absorbed by the body internally. So the question is, if a person were to ingest the same ink that makes up their tattoo, what would happen? My guess is that they would become very ill, very quickly. So perhaps the effect is the same just a bit slower as the skin drinks in the inks.

I guess the more I think about it the more I am alarmed at the number of people who get tattoos and more importantly the people who have them covering nearly their entire body.

Finally there are two other considerations. The person who gets a really bad tattoo and the person who gets a tattoo and decides they no longer want it. Then what?

The business of removing tattoos seems to be growing in stride with the business of getting tattoo as people increasing are feeling remorse over their decision to permanently get inked.

But tattoo removal is no walk in the park. The methods most commonly sought are dermabrasion, laser removal, and do-it-our-self creams.

Dermabrasion essentially is a process where the skin is filed down similar to sanding a piece of wood. This is expensive and can leave permanent scars. Not to mention, sanding down certain areas of the body has got to be painful.

Laser treatments can fade tattoos but several visits may be required and the costs can skyrocket very quickly. There is also the risk of hypopigmentation which is where the skin become lighter as a result of the laser exposure. Laser can also cause some tattoo inks to change in color rather than fade in a desirable way.

There are several creams on the market that claim to fade tattoos. Some work better than others. The challenge for any of these methods is keeping up with the rapidly changing inks used in tattoo parlors.

Wrecking Balm makes that claim and also uses a device that is FDA approved for application.

For many the cost of tattoo removal is many times more expensive than the original tattoo application. While I personally do not have any tattoos I know many who do and a few who wish they didn’t. Given the cost I would say try the creams first. It is cheaper and if it works you can avoid some pain and potential scarring. If all else fails and you just want the tattoo gone then I guess laser tattoo removal or dermabrasion are the next options.
